Day 12 EC2016 game day 4

Dag 12 – Maandag 1 augustus 2016 (English below)

Vanmorgen mochten we uitslapen, ontbijt was om 9 uur. We werden wakker gemaakt door de dames die het beddengoed kwamen verschonen. Na het ontbijt hebben we teamfoto’s gemaakt en om 11.00 heeft onze head coach Neal Powless een interview gegeven voor Lax Allstars. Om 14.00 uur hadden we lunch en om 15.45 uur hebben we de bus weer genomen richting… veld 5 waar we om 17.30 uur de wedstrijd hadden tegen Polen. Dit werd een spannende wedstrijd die we ook weer wonnen met 4-2 ! Na de wedstrijd namen de jongens hun ijsbad en wij gingen de watervoorraad weer aanvullen en terug naar de campus voor een laat diner. Om 22.00 was er nog een team meeting en hebben we nog een wasje gedraaid en daarna ging iedereen erg moe naar bed. Morgen belangrijke wedstrijd tegen Finland.

Day 12 – Monday August 1st 2016

This morning we could sleep in, breakfast was at 9 am. We were woken by the ladies wo came to change our bedsheets. After breakfast we took team photos and at 11.00 our head coach Neal Powless gave an interview for Lax Allstars. At 14.00 we had lunch and at 15.45 the bus took us to field 5 where we had the game against Poland at 17.30. It was an exciting game and we won again with 4-2 ! After the game, the guys had their ice baths and we went to supplement the water supply again and then went back to campus for a late dinner. At 22.00 there was a team meeting and we did some laundry and after that everybody went to bed quite exhausted. Tomorrow we have a big game against Finland.

Day 11 EC2016 game day 3

Dag 11 – Zondag 31 juli 2016 (English below)

Om 8.30 uur ontbijt. Om 10.30 uur konden we op veld 1 beginnen met de warming up. Om 11.30 uur begon de wedstrijd tegen Slowakije. We hadden een heleboel Oranje fans op de tribune zitten. Ontzettend leuk! En voor de 3e keer op een rij konden we de overwinning vieren met 19-7 !
Na de wedstrijd was er nog wat tijd om met familie of vrienden door te… brengen en wij gingen weer naar de winkel om de voorraad water aan te vullen. Om 17.00 uur hadden we een team meeting en om 18.30 uur avondeten. Daarna gingen we kijken naar de festival wedstrijd waar Neal en Demo in mee speelden. Dit was leuk om te zien. Even waren de rollen omgedraaid en riepen de spelers naar hun coaches wat ze moesten doen en zij genoten hier zichtbaar van! Morgen staat de wedstrijd tegen Polen op het programma.

Day 11 – Sunday 31st July 2016

We had breakfast at 8.30. At 10.30 we went to field 1 and started warming up. At 11.30 the game vs Slovakia started. There were a lot of supporters in the stands cheering for Orange. That was really nice! And for the 3th time in a row we celebrated victory with a score of 19-7 !
After the game there was some time to spend with family or friends and we took another trip to the shop to replenish the supply of water. At 17.00 we had a team meeting and at 18.30 dinner. After that we went to watch the scrimmage at the festival tournament where our head coach Neal and assistant coach Demo were playing. For a while the roles were reversed and our players were shouting instructions from the sidelines to our coaches and they had a blast doing so! Tomorrow the game against Poland is scheduled.
