Budapest 2016

The Dutch National Lacrosse team is currently training hard to represent the Netherlands in this summer’s 2016 ELF European Lacrosse Championships, taking place in Budapest, Hungary in July and August.

The Netherlands are traditionally at the top of European lacrosse. However, they have yet to hoist a European Championship trophy and will face tough competition when they attempt to seize their first title this summer.

As a unique, non-Olympic sport, elite lacrosse receives no funding and therefore the players cover all expenses; travel, accommodation, equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, and field rental costs are all covered by the players and coaching staff.

All players either have a full-time job or still pursue academic degrees. Balancing jobs or academics with elite level athletics requires an immense dedication and passion for lacrosse. Although training is our number one priority, the Dutch National Lacrosse Team cannot represent the Netherlands without the proper funding. Through this crowdfunding page, we are hoping to assist the players and would appreciate any help you can give us in doing this.

Thank you for your support. With your support we can make this an unforgettable experience!
